It is our pleasure to invite you to celebrate the release of a new Adair Music Group project, 'Monica Ramey and the Beegie Adair Trio' at a special CD Release party on December 9th at the Nashville Jazz Workshop from 3-5pm. Ramey’s sophomore album accentuates the chemistry of the Beegie Adair Trio (Beegie Adair, piano; Roger Spencer, bass; Chris Brown, drums) with Ramey elegantly interweaving lush, lyrical sophistication to an already immaculate musical conversation. Produced by Adair and Spencer, the alb
um also features on two of the trio and Ramey’s most beloved musical mates, jazz masters George Tidwell and Denis Sole, on several tracks. The result is the introduction and re-introduction of some of jazz’s most adored and forgotten songs and the introduction of an original tune, co-written by Adair.
This special project features a “Production A-team”, including producers Roger Spencer & Beegie Adair, Sandra Dudley producing Ms. Ramey’s vocals, engineering by Brendan Harkin, Tom Knox, Lauren Vessio and Roger Spencer, art by Brian Parker and photography by Jeff Coffin. The December 9th release party will be free and open to the public. Miss Ramey and the trio will play songs from the album and sign your purchased CDs. For those who are unable to make the party, the album is currently available for pre-order exclusively at www.monicaramey.com andwww.beegieadairstore.com. Album details and sample tracks on Monica's website,www.monicaramey.com. I invite you to learn more about this special album and tell everyone you know about the release party. The more, the merrier! Nine48 Jazz Presents: Monica Ramey featuring the Lori Mechem Trio
Each Nine48jazz house concert event showcases some of Nashville’s hippest jazz artists in a uniquely intimate setting reminiscent of early jazz rooms like the Village Vanguard and Keystone Korner. Seating is up close and personal and the vibe leaves no doubt that jazz has roots in Nashville.
On May 20th, Monica Ramey & the Lori Mechem Trio will make their first appearance on the Nine48 Jazz stage. Monica Ramey is creating quite a buzz with full house performances in clubs both locally and nationally. In 2011, she made her debut performance at the historic Birdland Jazz Club in New York with piano legend Beegie Adair and played to a most-enthusiastic, standing room only Snap on 2 & 4 performance at the Nashville Jazz Workshop with the Beegie Adair Trio. In 2012, she and Beegie Adair returned to New York with a very warm welcome for their second appearance at Birdland. Her debut album, “Make Someone Happy" spent multiple weeks on the jazz charts and is heard worldwide on radio, internet, television and retail stations.
The Lori Mechem Trio has had a string of successful CDs and performances together, namely at the Nashville Jazz Workshop where trio members Lori Mechem and Roger Spencer are the founders and directors. They’ve recorded 7 albums together, all with national accolade from fans, critics and musicians alike. Their Count Basie tribute albums, “Shiny Stockings” and “April in Paris” have caught the attention of fans and listeners world-wide, creating a new level of excitement and anticipation with every performance they play together.
Featuring songs from the American Popular Songbook, Ms. Ramey and the nationally acclaimed Lori Mechem Trio are sure to swing your socks off! This is a performance you should not miss.
This special event will sell out fast, so make reservations early by calling 615-944-5426, 615-243-8541 or emailing nine48jazz@gmail.com.
