I may be obsessed...
....with www.monicaramey.com right now. The "people watching" is fantastic. I watch the traffic reports and read the very sweet messages people are leaving me and it sometimes is too overwhelming. AND we're just getting started, kids!
Facebook, Twitter and Myspace are all really fantastic ways to reconnect, but when someone voluntarily steps into your own world...a world you share with no one else like your own website...it's an incredibly humbling and gratifying feeling. Until Make Someone Happy hit the press, I didn't do much to promote the website, but that all has changed.
Take a look for yourself. Leave a message, join the list, listen to the clips and yes, check out the amazing new album photos. Seriously folks, if there is a great photo of me, I'm claiming it and telling the world about it!
Have a wonderful night. Time to meditate and rest....

NJW Fundraiser -- The JAZZ PARTY OF THE YEAR!
Friends,
This is an organization and event that is very dear to my heart. You have 3 weeks to save up your coffee and lunch money and spend it on Sept. 13th at the FABULOUS event. I look forward to seeing you there.
The Nashville Jazz Workshop (NJW) is pleased to announce its Annual Fall Fundraiser will be held Sunday, September 13, from 4:00 pm 8:00 pm at Limelight, 201 Woodland Street.
Now in its ninth year, the NJW Fall Fundraiser is the Jazz Party of the Year and features wine, food and live music by top Nashville jazz artists and guests.
Our special guest artist this year is Donna McElroy, master jazz vocalist, educator, and recording artist on the faculty of Berklee College of Music. Donna is a former Nashville resident, music industry figure, and and former Fisk Jubilee Singer. She is popular with Nashville audiences, and plays to packed houses on her rare return visits. Also on the program will be 3rd Coast Vocals featuring Jeff Hall, Sandra Dudley, Christina Watson, Mark Stephens, and an NJW All Star Ensemble featuring Rod McGaha, Rahsaan Barber, Chester Thompson, Joe Davidian, and Jim Ferguson.
A special feature of the Fall Fundraiser is a live and silent auction, with unique and desirable items that include vacation getaways, tickets to top events, special dinner packages, in-home concerts, artwork by the city’s top artists, and much more. A unique feature of the auction is Small Works – a collection of 5” x 7” canvases with paintings by some of the area's top artists, produced especially for this event.
The ticket price includes food by Monell’s. There will be complimentary wine from 4:00 to 5:00 pm and a cash bar thereafter. Tickets are $50, and will be available beginning August 1. Tickets will be available by phone at 615-242-5299 and online at http://www.nashvillejazz.org/.
Limelight is located at 201 Woodland Street, Nashville, across the street from the Titans stadium.
Major sponsors for this year’s event include Nashville Lifestyles, Limelight, Monell’s, and WMOT Radio. Corporate and patron sponsorship packages are still available, and include reserved seating and other benefits. Call 242-5299 for sponsorship information.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the Nashville Jazz Workshop. Celebrating its 11th year of operation, NJW is a non-profit music education organization serving jazz musicians, jazz fans and the jazz community with classes, performances and special events. For more information visit http://www.nashvillejazz.org/.

Friends,
I never utilize this blog except for gigs, but I thought it may be fun to share some of the great things I do within and outside of the music world. For instance, I just saw Kenny Barron on Friday & Saturday night at the Nashville Jazz Workshop. It's not often that you get to see a jazz legend in such an intimate setting. It was incredible!
Maybe it's the holidays or perhaps I'm still growing up a bit, but I feel so thankful for the opportunities I have. As I grow musically and have the opportunity to share my experiences with others, I think the fascination will be as much about my musical experience as will be be about my musical talent. They really go hand in hand. I am who I am, musically, because of all that I've seen and experienced. I am who I am, personally, for the same reason. It's incredible.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and you can be with or speak with someone that matters to you on Thursday. Take care, Monica
